When you feel overwhelmed because there are so many things to do,
So many expectations to meet.
So many roles to fulfill.
Just pause. Live slowly. Not rushing from one point to the next.
Life is not a race. It never is. It never will be.
Release judgments of yourself and others.
You don’t have to have a fancy degree or the best job to be happy. It doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get one. You can get it but with an awareness that it won’t make you happy. It won’t solve all your problems. It can give you the fulfillment and satisfaction of learning and doing your best, but it isn’t going to make you happy.
Trying to do your best isn’t the same as having to do your best.
The first involves choosing. A choice. An intention.
The latter is an act of desperation. Desperation to prove yourself worthy to others because you don’t think you are.
So aim for the sun. Reach for the sky.
But because you choose to, not because you have to.
And if you can’t reach it the first time, the sun and the sky will be there when you’re ready to jump again.
Because life is not a race.
